Psychological Testing; Adult & Child
Adult
Psychological testing can be done for the courts, employment, or educational placements. Testing ranges from 3 to 5 hours depending on tests being administered.
Children
Psychological testing for children is primarily educational but can also include projective tests. Educational placement for gifted testing is broken down into two stages; a pre-test which measures Intelligence Quotient (IQ) which takes approximately 2 hours. Upon meeting the minimum criteria at the first stage, the second stage is scheduled. It includes specific academic testing that meets the criteria for placement in Exceptional Student Education for Palm Beach County. This testing would be an additional 2-3 hours. Emotionally Handicapped (EH) or Specific Learning Disability (SLD) testing can also be accomplished with similar diagnostic tests but require 5 to 7 hours of testing plus projective testing.
