Intervention
This is typically an in home intervention lead by a licensed therapist to assist the family to confront and motivate a loved one to seek help for thier addiction or mental health problem. Because of their defensiveness these individuals do not see their destructive behavior or the course they are on and would not seek treatment without intervention.
The intervention specialist meets with family and friends of the identified individudal at the therapy office to obtain a history of the problem, attempts made to rectify the problem and plan a strategy for the intervention itself.
